MBWCNY The Municipal Bond Women's Club of New York |
Mayoral ProclamationIn 1948, eight business women founded "The Municipal Bond Women’s Club of New York", in order to foster association among women engaged in the Municipal Bond Business. Providing information about the marketplace as well as forum for members to exchange career advice, this organization is a source of counsel, support, and camaraderie for women working in a field that is constantly changing. Working in the financial center of the world, the members of this venerable organization strive for excellence, strengthened by the support of their colleagues. The Municipal Bond Women’s Club offers stability amid the fluctuation of prices and the uncertainty of the market. Organizations such as this remind us that business, like our city itself, depends upon relationships and communication, and that we are not alone in our endeavors to accomplish our goals. Composed of active, associate, and honorary members, the club includes women in all phases of the municipal bond business. They help one another to find jobs and to learn about and excel in their chosen careers. Not only do they connect with one another through social events, but they also reach out to the community, holding fund-raising events for various charities, such as Women in Need (WIN) and United War Veteran Council.
